AGM 2013

MCGC holds its first AGM as a membership organisation

In September MCGC celebrated its first AGM as a membership organisation.

Not only did we have a BBQ and non-alcoholic cocktail bar, we also premiered our new film and had a formal opening of our new trianing room. The Olsen Room was opened by Eileen Olsen, wife of the late Gerry Olsen, and mother of one of our team members. The room was funded by by donations in Gerry's name and Eileen spoke touchingly about how her husband had been a real "people person" and would have been proud of the developments at MCGC.

David Rutley MP attended and spoke of the feeling of happiness he senses, every time he visits. His words were reflected in General Manager Jo Matthews' speech, talking about the MCGC family and how we all look out for one another.

The most exciting part of the evening was seeing MCGC members take part in an election, where people were voted into honorary positions on the Board of Directors. Some members have never voted before and we hope that this experience will encourage them to take part in future local and general elections.

The result of the election is as follows:

Chris Arnold, Aidan Killeen and Ciaran Fleming were all voted back onto the board.

Chair - Lynette Mullings, Treasurer - Ciaran Fleming, Company Secretary - Chris Arnold.

Thanks to everyone who took part, helped and attended such a wonderful event!
